Keep Hope Alive!

This blog swims against the tide. I was writing about the potential assassination of Barack Obama a couple of weeks ago, and then I did again as recently as Friday morning. Later that same morning Hillary Clinton came out and made her announcement that she needs to stay in the race because we all remember Bobby Kennedy was killed in June.
Lots of people then wrote about that, though I still think I'm pretty much the only one who has written publicly that the assassination would come at the hands of the Clintons themselves.

Now that the whole world is piling on, saying Clinton should just go away, I'm going to turn and take a different tack.

Obama should make HRC his VP candidate, but not for any of the "unity" reasons that are so in vogue these days. No, he should make her the VP so that he WILL stay alive.

You see, the number of people out there who do not want to see her as president is large, and many of them have guns. This is important, as you will soon see.

So, here's how it would work: Obama would name her VP, and tell everyone that she would advise him from a cabin in Idaho and could not leave that cabin. There she would have Secret Service protection, but she could make calls only to him. She could not call any of her old pals, any mob connections, any professional hit men, etc. Then everyone, including those who do not like her (those people with lots of guns) would do everything they could to keep Obama alive because if anything happened to him, HRC would become president as mandated by the constitution.

This is called "aligning people of different interests." Michelle Obama will have the exact same goal as every NRA member, everyone who does not want to see a Clinton back in office, etc. They will all be chanting, "Keep Hope Alive!" As long as Obama lives, Clinton never gets to leave the cabin.

There's a win-win-win.

Do not let history repeat

A well spoken and barrier-breaking young president, with a lovely wife and two photogenic kids. We've seen this movie before. It doesn't end well.

The talk is increasing about HRC actively pushing herself into the VP position. This is a really horrible idea for anyone who wants to see Obama live.

There's a reason Michelle Obama has reportedly vetoed the idea. She's seen the pictures. She doesn't want to be standing next to Hillary on Air Force 1. She doesn't want to be a widow. She wants her children to watch their father grow old.

Anyone who thinks that HRC wouldn't kill Obama to get him out of the way has clearly not been paying attention.

One other question for the Democrats: The Republicans have had someone named Bush or Dole on the ticket every single cycle from 1976 to 2004. Now that Bill Clinton is actively pushing Chelsea as a candidate, do the Democrats want to have the same Dynasty association?

That's my name, don't wear it out

One of my favorite blogs is the “blog” of “unnecessary” quotation marks. They have lots of fun with a seemingly endless stream of signs with quote marks put in by people who -- in general -- think that quotes denote emphasis rather than a quotation.

The standard meme of the blog is that when a city government, for instance, puts up a sign that asks to keep the "dogs" off the grass, they are putting it in quotes because the government does not mean dogs at all.

The blog stays generally apolitical, so it's my duty to post the picture above from West Virginia. Clearly most people looking at that picture will find only clear racism accompanied -- as it so often is -- by a lack of understanding of English.

Maybe there's another explanation. Maybe he doesn't think Barack really does have the same name as the ex-despot, and he's trying to get Hillary's attention and tell her, "Hey, Hillary, do NOT become a genocidal tyrant!"

Ummmm. Maybe not.

How is it that the 20th century skipped over West Virginia?

Death of a President

There's been a lot of lip flapping lately that Obama should pick Hillary to be his VP.

This is an exceptionally bad idea. Why? The Clintons absolutely positively would kill him.

I think if they were offered (they being Bill and Hill) the VP slot they would at first say no, and then they would go home and mull over the phrase "one heartbeat away" and then in the morning they would accept.

It's like something out of a novel!

The Clintons are laying the groundwork right now to get people thinking about guns and Obama.

Remember, the image you see here comes not from Republicans, or from the NRA, but from the Clintons.

Do not sign his death warrant, do not let HRC be the VP.

(Just to be clear, this post is written with no ironic detachment.)
