After several bad experiences, I've developed a simple, free applicant tracking system to help you keep track of all your job applications in a way that works for you, and is widely accepted by potential employees.
Here's how it works:
1. Go to Google Docs and set up a new form. To make it easy on you, I've included a sample of one below to make it easy.
2. You can embed the form on your own site, or send it by email to anyone who applies to an ad placed on craigslist, or wherever.
3. All your applicants will be conveniently listed in a spreadsheet. You can analyze them and sort them there, and reply right from that spreadsheet, and do all of your applicant tracking from that page. It's way better than any applicant tracking software you will find.
